Atanu is originally from Guwahati and moved to Australia in 2007, first settling in South Australia as an international student before making Sydney his home in 2011. An engineer by profession, he actively volunteers with Bhaxaghar as its treasurer. He lives in Sydney with his wife, Himadri Deka, and their two children, Ron and Gia.
