Chintanu is originally from Nagaon, a centrally located area of Assam in India on the bank of Kalang, a major tributary of the mighty Brahmaputra river. As the new millennium began, he moved places for academic endeavours and lived in a few countries. Eventually in 2011, he landed up in the Harbour City for his Post-Doctorate at the University of New South Wales. Though later he had to live out of the state for close to a decade for professional reasons, since early in the year of 2022 he returned to Sydney with his wife and two children to make this city their permanent abode.
Chintanu has a wide range of interests, and esp. considers himself as an avid enthusiast of literature and music.
