Susmita Barooah

Susmita lives in Sydney with her husband  Monisankar Baruah and their two sons, Anshul and Anay. While happily calling Sydney her home for the last 23 years, her love for Assam’s culture sees her actively involved with the Assam Association here down under. Susmita’s professional career sees her work in the health services field at Audika, but her greatest passion is to promote Assamese language and culture in Australia, particularly amongst the younger generations.  This is well reflected through the popularity of  Bhaxaghar, the Assamese language school she has been nurturing over 12 years now.  Apart from being culturally very active, Susmita’s hobbies include a love for travel, singing and socialising.
